Prison relocation: Health Impact Assessment and Presentation
Tooele County Health Department contracted Westminster health professionals to conduct a Health Impact Assessment on the potential relocation of the state prison to the Tooele County area. The study results were released Wednesday night. A Health Impact Assessment evaluates the impact of projects on the health of individuals, serves as a framework to provide decision makers with information, and incorporates community feedback and existing research. The presentation reviewed the community survey results, discussed key health information assessment findings and recommendations, and allowed for community questions. The Health Information Assessment is being made available to the public. To express your opinion about the prison relocation, contact your elected official. The Prison Relocation Committee is scheduled to make recommendations to the 2015 legislature.
