Tobacco Use Prevention

The Tooele County Health Department provides an Extensive Tobacco Program including health education,  prevention, Tobacco Handler Classes, and retail information. Tooele County Health Department is working with the Tooele City Council and has been successful in making all of Tooele’s Parks Smoke Free.

Tobacco use remains the leading preventable cause of death in the United States, causing more than 400,000 deaths each year. Smoking and chewing tobacco kills more people than AIDS, alcohol, drug abuse, car crashes, murders, suicides, and fires combined. There are over 4,000 toxic chemicals in tobacco, many of which are carcinogenic (meaning they cause cancer).
